Come join us at the beautiful Riverbend Gardens to enjoy some of the first vegetables of the year direct from the garden to your plate. Experience this incredible hidden gem of farm land within the city limits. The event will commence with a farm tour led by Aaron and Janelle Herbert before we sit down to an elegant multi-course meal with wine pairings. Riverbend Gardens Greenhouse is OPEN!
At Riverbend Gardens, we have two greenhouses popping with beautiful flowers! We have a large selection of bedding plants, tomatoes and veggie packs. We also have many beautiful hanging baskets and lovely planters. We are open from 10am to 6pm every day! If you can not make it out, or you think it will freeze again soon, do not dispair! We are hosting an amazing event! Plant and Play in May! This event is for everyone. We will be having many plant sales, fun activites for kids, and hot dogs! Jumpy castle, wagon rides, plant your own planters station, facepainting and much more! We would love to see you all out on Sunday, May 26! Don’t worry, we are OPEN from May 4th – until June 5th Everyday from 10 am – 6pm! We have a beautiful selection of hanging baskets, planters, and bedding plants! Pick up your Christmas Dinner Package Tomorrow!
Thank you to all who purchased your veggies with us this holiday season!, We had a great response from our on line service and we feel so blessed to have wonderful customers! Also once again, Thanks to our hosts Acme Meat Market, Prairie Mill Bread, and Careit Urban Deli, for accommodating our service. It is a very busy time of year for all of us and deserve a big pat on the back! Make sure you take some time to check out their wonderful products tomorrow, they really are experts at what they do! Don’t forget!! Tomorrow is pick up day, deliveries will be ready for pick up, at 12:00 noon until close on Tuesday Dec. 18th. This years Christmas special will include 2lbs Bintje potatoes, 2lbs purple potatoes, 2lbs carrots, 2lbs of beets, 2 onions, a cabbage and a buttercup squash. We are busy selling our produce year round at the starthcona Farmers’ Market. Janelle has finished ordering our plants for the bedding plant season, did you know they start growing some of our lovely flowering plants in December?! Aaron is busy clearing snow from the yard, repairing equipment, and putting together the 2013 vegetable seed order! Krystal is busy putting together information for our upcoming CSA and preparing the vegetables for the market. Work never ends here at the farm, and March is soon approaching, when we get to fire up the greenhouses.
