Top 100 Best Things in Edmonton

Top 100

We’ve known for years that Riverbend veggies are some of the best edibles around, but this year they got noticed! The Tomato Food & Drink came out with their 3rd annual Top 100 Best Things to eat in Edmonton and fresh corn from Riverbend Gardens rolls in at #19! Not only that, the only other veggie item to rank above us is the beet and pear salad from our friends at RGE RD. And talk about keeping good company, other veggie producers who made this year’s list include Peas on Earth, Sun Dog Organics, Gull Valley Tomatoes and West Country Herbs. It’s amazing to see so much support for the farmers that feed our city. We’re so proud to be celebrated by the Tomato and our community in this way. Thanks for all your support and start counting because we’re only 5 months away from fresh corn season! layne-DSC_9653

YEG SEXY

Last week we were happy to be part of the team that presented Edmonton Food Bank with a cheque for $19,500 which was the profits from the sales of the 2015 Sexy Men of YEG Food calendar. The YEG SEXY crew is at it again, creating a 2016 edition of this best seller and applications are now open at www.yegsexy.com So if you know a cook, a dishwasher, a farmer, a baker, an eater or any other man involved in the YEG food scene, encourage them to apply! We want to double our donation to the food bank this year and we know you know the right men for the job!Food Bank

Farm News

It may not look like spring anymore but in our greenhouses, there are flowers galore! We’ve planted our bedding plants and are carefully watching and watering them into full blown blooms. DF0_8404 We’ve also got some almost spring photos of the farm for you from a gorgeous frosty morning last week.
